What is ECC?
ECC or English Conversation Club is a community made up of four permanent members of the English Literature student UIN Sunan Kalijaga who had one desire and same goal of developing and developed together in improving English proficiency. This community is built on the awareness of the difficulty of developing English proficiency individually.
Since the community was established in November at the end of 2010, many regular weekly programs that have been implemented to date as programs Listening Corner, Conversation Mania, Vocabulary Buliding, and Free Topic Discussion. As for the off-campus program, ECC communities have excellent programs like Foreigner Hunter, @ restaurant and singing at Happy Puppy.
Community membership in the ECC system to a system based on flexibility (flexibility) in which every student of English Literature who wish to join are welcome gladly, without having to fill out forms let alone pay the registration fee and monthly dues. Students who wish to join can customize with their own college schedule, so in this ECC community no compulsion to attend each meeting. But it is different from the permanent members. Permanent member is defined as a student who has long participated, pioneered the establishment of this community and have the intention and purpose to both thrive in improving English language skills. Therefore, without being forced or encouraged, a permanent member of this always take the time to be present at every meeting and have an important role in the realization of weekly programs and flagship program in this community.
In operational terms, this community rely on donations from its permanent members and non-permanent members that in fact is the entire English Literature student UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Each meeting, students who attend are welcome to invest in the ECC Bank made from water bottle. They should not invest more than Rp. 500, - every meeting. The results of this contribution will be returned to the members / students present at each meeting in the form of modules or copy sheet material. The existence of this system because it is based on the similarity of the fate and the background that both want to improve English language skills without carrying commercial interests.
